According to Job 31, a good life looks like:
- do not look with lust
- live like God is watching (because he is)
- do not speaking deceitfully
- do not depart from God’s way
- do not incline after your eyes
- do not wait at your neighbor’s door (meaning, don’t wait around in order to be tempted)
- Fight for your servants if they raise an issue
- Consider that all are made by God in the same way you were. There is no better or worse than another
- Do not withhold from the poor
- do not ignore the widow
- do not eat alone
- feed the fatherless
- provide clothing to those with lack
- fear the LORD
- be trustworthy
- rejoice in what God gives you
- live in public - do not have secrets
- do not curse others
- Ensure that those around you live generously with your resources (servants should know that you are generous, it’s not a question of hesitation)
- take in strangers or travelers
- do not keep secret sins, shout them
- do not be afraid of the world, fear God
- pay for what you use
