In 2 Thess chapter 3, Paul calls everyone to follow his example and work hard for his keep. While he could have allowed the people to serve him, as he was their teacher, he worked all the harder to lead by example. He implores Christians to work hard for their lot in life and to further he kingdom. Further, he states that we should embarrass those who do not work, so that they might get to it. He encourages all to work for their food and to not be a busy body, but to stay busy with true work.
