In 1 Corinthians 9. Paul talks about how he is entitled to receive blessings and offerings as a side effect of his ministry. He quotes the Torah saying that one is not to muzzle the ox as it treads the grain. He interprets this to mean that if a person does the work he should be allowed and expected to partake of the benefits of that work. He boasts that he has never asked for his right to money - as not to hinder the gospel - but does proclaim that he is within his rights to do so.
