Everything is Meaningless
In Ecclesiastes 1-3, Solomon (or, “the teacher”) bemoans how nothing ultimately matters. We work hard or we don’t, we learn a lot or remain foolish; in either case, we all die and are forgotten. Likewise, even the rivers, wind, or our body parts work in circles, never ending until the End. His ultimate lesson is that there is a time and place for everything and that the best we can do is work hard and enjoy this fleeting life while we have it.
