God withholds wrath for his own sake

God’s wrath is something hard to grapple with. It is important to know that mercy and grace are given to us but it is also important to know that God is perfectly righteous and a judge cannot withhold judgement forever. We see in Isa 48 that he holds back his wrath so that others may come to him; however, one day this will stop. It is never for us to decide but when God judges, it is perfect. We must pray that, just as we were saved from the wage of sin (death), we make an impact on those around us and THEY be saved as well. Otherwise, there will be nothing to stop the creator from his judgement.

⁹ For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to destroy you completely.

Psa 68:21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
