Hezekiah and prayer

In Isa 37 and 38, we find two stories of Hezekiah. One where he is threatened by Assyria and another where he is told he will die by illness. In both cases, his immediate reaction is prayer and God sees him in both cases. For the former, God sends a death angel to kill 185,000 Assyrians, and ultimately the leader via his sons. Secondly, God adds 15 years to Hezekiahs life. Prayer from a righteous man is a powerful thing. Remember that God does not give bad gifts (Matt 7:9-11)
