In Job 8, Job rebuts his friends saying it doesn’t matter whether he is guilty or innocent. Even if he had God’s ear, which we cannot ask for in fairness, God is not required to listen or agree with us. He prays for a mediator. We now have one, Jesus!

33 If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, 34 someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. fear of him, but as it now stands with me, cannot.
