An interesting observation: judges generally come only after the people were oppressed and cried upon the name of God. Prophets come when rebellion against God grows to a point of near oppression and were used to warn the people before they were taken captive. God tried to avoid the judgement but even that doesn’t seem to work. Hearts grow ever further from Him.
