In 1 Samuel 14, we hear of Jonathon and his armor bearer taking on the Philistines. They find themselves between a literal rock and a hard place - two cliffs - but Jonathon trusts that God will give them the victory. He sets up a test and then runs in prepared to fight. They take out 20 men in the distance of a half acre, then God steps up to the plate and causes an earthquake and a panic. The remainder of the army then joins them.
This is exactly the type of faith God likes to see. Yes, there was a “if this happens then we know God is for us,” but remember: they’re already at the enemy line when they say that. There was already trust that God was with them and already a show of that faith by their actions. Strive today to take faithful action. God won’t leave you high and dry.
