In 1 Thess 3 and 4, Paul admires the faith of those in Thessolonica. He praises them for sticking to the faith, as he had worried that the false teachings of the circumcision or worldly reminders would pull them down (as occurred with the Colossians). In chapter 4, he begs them to continue their process of sanctification always. He reminds them in particular to steer clear of sexual immorality, love more and more each day, and advises them to avoid getting tied up in other people’s affairs. Everything we do is unto God so when we reject the law, we reject God. When we love others, we love God. We remain to ourselves as upstanding citizens so that others may see the light of our life and be drawn in to God.
