In 1 Cor 7, Paul gives an outline for how we should live with those closest to us. He would prefer that none marry; however, he would prefer marriage over lust. He states that we should not make ourselves more righteous than our partner, master, or anyone else when saved. Rather, we should stay in that position and use it to further the kingdom. We do not save, and so we are not compelled to stay, but we should see it as an opportunity by which the other may be saved. Paul calls us to remain where we were before salvation that we may save those around us by remaining.
