In Jeremiah 12, we see the question posed as to why bad people prosper and never have to worry. The LORD answers with a question: “if you race against a man and lose, how can you expect to race against a horse and win?” That is, we are shown these unfair situations to grow our faith and teach us to be faithful in the little so that God can trust us to be faithful with much. The end of the chapter discusses how God with punish the people who we see as scooting by in life one day, but will call them back to him after they have been judged. If we keep the faith, not only are we spared from that judgement, we are also encouraged in our faith and taught how to endure hardship, training us in life.
