In Hosea 2:11, we see that God revokes the feasts as a punishment for the adultery of the Israelites. This is listed along with things like holding back wine, grain, and wool. God considers his “meodim” - his appointed times - as something cherished. He wants to meet with us but if we stub him enough, he stops showing up. Don’t stand up God! We see in Zechariah that the feasts return in the end of times, and Hosea 3 confirms that, though the Jews will spend a time without a king, they will return to him.
