In 2 Samuel 21, we find that there is a drought in Israel. David inquires of the LORD and is told that it is because of Saul’s betrayal of the Amorites (Gibeon), who they had sworn to protect. David made recompense with them and the rain fell.

While this story may not feel directly applicable, think back on relationships you’ve betrayed, deals you have broken, or promises lost. God takes these all seriously (let your yes be yes and your no be no) and will withhold blessing from you until made right. My view is that there is a table, full of gifts and blessings, set before you at your birth. In life, you choose to throw them away - one by one - or you choose to accept them. Choose life!
