In Jeremiah 15, God speaks of the destruction to come. In the prior chapter, he talks about how false prophets, those who speak of their own mind as if it were the word of God, would be judged and killed in the same way they prophesized would never happen; those who listened would die. He then claims the reason for this nation-wide judgment is because of what Manasseh did in Jerusalem. The judgement of individuals (ch 16:12) was because they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. This was a prophecy of the Assyrian captivity.
