In 1 Cor 15, Paul discusses our new bodies. After speaking of Jesus’s resurrection answering the pressing question of “is resurrection a thing,” (“he answers, I sure hope so or this is all a joke”) he tries to answer the question of what that will look like.
He likens the resurrection to a plant. A plant cannot grow unless first the seed of that plant is planted, watered, and ultimately dies. In our Christian walk on this earth, we are the seed; we must be planted in the good soil of the Gospel, watered in righteousness and faith in Jesus, and ultimately die. Only then can our full potential be revealed in our heavenly body.
